Mykonos has over 30 beaches — but not all are created equal, and many of the best cannot be reached by public transport. A rental car or ATV transforms your beach day completely.
1. Super Paradise Beach
One of the most famous party beaches on the island, only accessible by car, ATV, or boat. The road down is steep and narrow — arrive before 11am to secure a good spot before the beach clubs fill up.
2. Agios Sostis
The best-kept secret on the island. No beach bars, no sun loungers — just raw, beautiful Cycladic coastline. The road is unpaved for the last 500 metres, so an ATV is strongly recommended. Bring your own water and food.
3. Panormos Beach
A long, relatively uncrowded beach on the north side of the island. Excellent for windsurfing, with authentic and affordable tavernas — a welcome change from the tourist prices near Chora.
4. Fokos Beach
A north-coast gem with crystal-clear water and a small taverna serving fresh fish. The last kilometre requires an ATV — regular cars struggle with the terrain.
5. Mersini Beach
Tiny, rocky, and completely off the radar. You will need a good map app and a capable vehicle to find it — but once there, you will likely have the whole cove to yourself.
